Take the first step to becoming a CASA advocate:

CASA 101: Information Session, Comanche County

Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 12:30 PM
Comanche Courthouse, County Courtroom
Comanche, TX 76442

CASA in the Heart of Texas recruits, trains, and supports quality volunteers who work with and on behalf of children from our community in the foster care system.  There is a great need and definite urgency for volunteers at this time. There are too many children from our area in the system who do not have a CASA.  At this time, we cannot take any new cases until new CASAs are certified.  That means children coming into the system will not have a CASA to be by their side as they go through one of the most painful and confusing times of their lives.

Volunteer advocates (or CASAs, Court Appointed Special Advocates) get to know the child and everyone involved in the child’s life/case in order to report to and make recommendations to the court concerning the best interest of the child/children. CASA 101 will address what CASA in the Heart of Texas is and does, the role and importance of volunteer advocates, as well as the requirements, training provided, and duties of advocates. We will also talk about CASA Crusaders, our upcoming training class, etc. Vulnerable children are waiting. Do you have the heart of a CASA?

If possible, let us know that you will attend.

Come to CASA 101 to take the first steps toward answering the call. Apply online from this website or call 325-643-2557 to speak to our staff.
