Take the first step to becoming a CASA advocate:

VOLUNTEER!

CASA 101

CASA in the Heart of Texas is hosting CASA 101, an information session, for those in the community who want to impact the outcomes for children in the foster care system by becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate.  A CASA volunteer gets to know everyone in a child’s life and makes reports and recommendations to the court for the child/children’s best interest.  A CASA advocates for the child’s physical, emotional and educational needs while in the foster care system and is often the only person involved in the case from the time of removal until permanency, providing a consistent, trustworthy, adult presence in the child’s life during a very critical period.  Every child in care deserves to have a fierce advocate by their side.  If you would like to be such an advocate or find out more about CASA in the Heart of Texas and ways to impact children in care from our community, please join us this Tuesday at 6:00 PM for CASA 101 at 901 Avenue B (the Family Services Center building).  If you know you can’t be an advocate at this time but want to learn more about our auxiliary volunteer group, CASA Crusaders, this meeting is also for you!
