The CASA Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations of the organization, completion of its mission to support the well-being of children in foster care and meeting the goals of CASA in the Heart of Texas’ strategic plan.

These strategic goals are focused on:

  • Recruiting, training, supervising, and retaining a high functioning and motivated team of paid staff members and volunteer advocates,
  • Securing grant income to meet organizational needs,
  • Working with the Board of Directors to identify and build long lasting relationships with major donors,
  • Organizing fundraising events,
  • Managing the organization’s budget,
  • Promoting the organization as the primary ambassador and face of CASA within Brown, Comanche, and Mills counties.

The Executive Director is directly accountable to the CASA Board of Directors and is responsible for providing them reports, sharing information, and collaborating with them.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in community relations and/or holding a position focused on public or other external relationships.
  • A minimum of one year in program administration.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading a motivated team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong written, verbal, and social media communication skills.
  • Track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Preferred Educational Background:

  • A bachelor’s degree or extensive coursework in Communication, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must maintain current State of Texas Motor Vehicle license
  • Must maintain current automobile liability insurance
  • Must pass a background and criminal check and complete CASA Volunteer Training within 60 days (training provided)

This is a full-time salaried position and offers health and other benefits.
