Take the first step to becoming a CASA advocate:

VOLUNTEER!

Stay tuned for upcoming events for CASA in the Heart of Texas!

Please join CASA staff and a Mills County Advocate at the Welcome Center, located at 1219 Fisher Street in Goldthwaite, Texas for an Information Session on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 10:30 A.M.  We will be sharing information  about our mission and will discuss ways that one can help children and families from your community who are involved with the foster care system.  Please call  (325)643-2557 for more information or to RSVP.

CASA in the Heart of Texas will be hold a Facebook Live Event  at noon on August 25, 2021. Please join Joanne McCraw, Recruiter/Trainer,  as she talks to Ann Jones about why she chose to become an Advocate through CASA as well as why she continues to do this challenging work. Learn about what our Advocates do and how their advocacy positively impacts children and families in our community. Have you thought about getting involved with CASA? This will be a great opportunity to get more information and to help determine if this work is a good fit for you.

Can’t be an Advocate? There are other ways to help. CASA Crusaders is a unique volunteer opportunity for those who have the heart and passion for our mission but cannot, for whatever reason at this time, be a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Further, there are opportunities to serve on our Board of Directors or possibly being a donor to support our mission.

Pre-Service Training Classes –  These training classes are the initial training provided to potential new volunteer advocates and consist of at least 30 hours of classroom and homework time.  In addition, at least 3 hours of court observation are required in CPS court.  These training classes are held at least four times per year.
