Take the first step to becoming a CASA advocate:

Stay tuned for upcoming events for CASA in the Heart of Texas!

Upcoming Events to watch for:

CASA 101: Information Sessions – These information sessions are for anyone who would like to learn more about the mission of CASA in the Heart of Texas.  We talk about the work of our volunteer advocates including specifics of their job duties, requirements, helpful characteristics, commitments, time involvement, training offered/required, and the process of becoming a CASA.  A current volunteer is often present to talk about their experience as a CASA.

We also discuss CASA Crusaders, a unique volunteer opportunity for those who have the heart and passion for our mission but cannot, for whatever reason at this time, be a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Attending would also be helpful for those interested in serving on our Board of Directors or possibly being a donor to support our mission. These information sessions are generally held on a monthly basis. If you don’t see one posted here or on our FB page, please call our office at 325-643-2557 for more information.

Pre-Service Training Classes –  These training classes are the initial training provided to potential new volunteer advocates and consist of at least 30 hours of classroom and homework time.  In addition, at least 3 hours of court observation are required in CPS court.  These training classes are held several times per year.
