CASA in the Heart of Texas trains and supports quality volunteers to work with and on behalf of abused and neglected children from our community who have been removed from their homes by the court and placed in substitute care.  CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers become officers of the court, report to the court, and make recommendations to the court as to the best interest of the child/children by getting to know the child and everyone involved in the child’s life.  The CASA volunteer is a safe, consistent adult presence in the child’s life from the time they come into care until they are in a safe, permanent home.  CASA volunteers typically only serve one child or sibling group at a time so that they can give the case the sustained time, energy, and focus needed to help the child/children to whom they are assigned attain permanency.  CASA volunteers often give these children the hope they need to get through the difficult time of removal and substitute care.  CASA volunteers make a difference at a critical point in a child’s life.  Contact CASA in the Heart of Texas to learn more about how you can make a difference in a child’s life.
