CASA in the Heart of Texas recruits, trains, and supports quality volunteers who work with and on behalf of children from our community in the foster care system. There is a great need and definite urgency for volunteers at this time. There are too many children in the system who do not have a CASA. Volunteer advocates (or CASAs) get to know the child and everyone involved in the child’s life/case in order to report to and make recommendations to the court concerning the best interest of the child/children. This meeting will address what CASA in the Heart of Texas is and does, the role and importance of volunteer advocates, as well as the requirements, training provided, and duties of advocates. We will also talk about CASA Crusaders, our upcoming training class, etc. Vulnerable children are waiting. Do you have the heart of a CASA? Be there to take the first steps toward answering the call.
